Musical Moment: Is it sacrilegious to cover a Stevie Nicks song and do it just as well?
Or maybe even better? But let's not get carried away.
I have no idea how many readers here might be familiar with the Fleetwood Mac tribute ban “Rumours of Fleetwood Mac,” but they do a lot of touring and get around quite a bit, mostly in Europe—although they do have some U.S. dates coming up later this year. (Eager to hear from readers in the Comments section below.)
Also, they are sensational. Jess Harwood has mastered the voice and style of Stevie Nicks, and I really recommend giving her a listen, especially her rendition of “Gypsy.” (She also does a mean “Sara.”)
I’ve put the Stevie Nicks original of “Gypsy” below. And below that, while we are on the subject of covers, Kate Bush singing “Rocket Man” on the Terry Wogan show a number of years back. A personal favorite.
