In which this newsletter spells out dos and don’ts when making comments.

Hi all,

The previous post on the Russell Brand allegations has generated several comments disagreeing strongly with my position, which is not surprising. I have responded to some of them. I have also deleted a couple. Since I have not promulgated the rules for comment in any formal way so far, here they are:

Racism, misogyny, or any other forms of bigotry are not allowed. I reserve the right to make that determination. In one case, a commenter stated that women report rape falsely all the time. In addition to being misogynist, that statement is factually false.

Personal attacks on me and others are not allowed. I also reserve the right to make that determination. In this latest case there was no ambiguity.

I welcome comment here whether you agree with me or not. Sometimes I will respond, and sometimes not.
